This phase is the foundation of the entire project. During 2026, a 15-day scouting expedition will be carried out in Melinka to establish deep ties with the community, unions and local residents. The goal is to identify latent stories and those that will define the documentary, as well as to capture material for the official teaser. This stage combines anthropological research with the development of the fundraising strategy needed for the main production.

Start of the technical expedition and coordination with key contacts for the project logistics.
Exploration in the Guaitecas Archipelago, first contact with the community, and pre-interviews.
There are projects you choose with your head, and others that call to you from deep within. Melinka is, without a doubt, one of the latter. Today, I write to reflect on what it means, after years of shaping Mi Viaje del Héroe.
